IGS Discussion Forums: Need Help? Have a Suggestion?: search limits

When searching for posts by author, the resuts do not show the individual threads. Only two levels of results are show thus;

Your search found 177 posts on 34 pages in 3 topics.
. IGS Discussion Forums
... Learning GS Topics
... In the News
... Need Help? Have a Suggestion?

Clicking on any of the three topics found brings up the ENTIRE list of ALL threads in the topic. It does not limit the list to only the threads in which the author searched for posted.

Since there are so many threads in each topic, this does not narrow the search down to the topics in which the author searched for has posted.

For the search to be effective, we need the list expanded to show only the individual threads the searched for author has posted to in the topic area.

In other words, we need three levels of search results when searching for posts by author.
Total:
... Topic 1
......Thread 1.1
......Thread 1.2
... Topic 2
......Thread 2.1
......THread 2.2
etc.

The present search does not perform this function at all. In the above example, we need the 177 threads shown properly distributed under the appropriate topics, but I'd settle for just the 177 threads.

How can this be done? Can you change the message board search settings to list the posts in which the author was found?

Right now the search by author is "broken" because it does not return a list of threads in which the author posted.

I adopted the free version for THS website as soon as I came across this one on the IGS forum.

I have been pleased with it.

The search works as desired on that message board.

Click on search in the options at the bottom of the page.
Type part of a name in the "Search for" box.
Use the "Look in drop-down selection list".
Click on arrow next to "Text of message", and change to the "Names of authors" option.
Use the "Search topics" drop-down selection list.
Click on the down arrow, and make sure (All topics) is selected.
Now click the "Perform search" button.

There is no "+" sign appearing in front of the topic list on my display. However, if I click where there is "supposed to be one", I do get the expansion. I'll just have to remember that the "+" sign is invisible. It's apparenly a browser sniffing software failure. If I tell my browser to spoof MSIE or Mozilla, the plus signs appear, but when I identify as Opera, the plus signs disappear.
