Remember Joe and Natalie? They had been to "all" the self-help seminars being offered at the time when they came to the general semantics seminar, including yoga, primal scream, EST, etc., and they reported that General semantics was the best, it had it all.

Paradigms which come to my thought process include two divisions or classes. They include major (and not so major) religions as one meta-class of paradigms. Science and the philosophy of science in particular, into which some might include general semantics, comprise another meta-class of paradigms.

I see a primary difference between these two classes, but I see humans partaking of both perspective, but with a varying degree of proportionality between the two perspectives. See doubt and faith for the details.

The "essential" difference between the two classes of paradigms provide two "legs" to stand on, but consciousness of abstracting applied to the two legs provide a "third leg", and that makes for a stable tripod.
