Ralph E. Kenyon, Sr., 91, died September 1st with his loving family by his side. A retired Machine Inspector of 16 years for Advance Manufacturing, he lived in Chester for the past 67 years. Ralph was born on November 6, 1918, the son of the late Charles and Pearl E. Provost Kenyon. Ralph served the town as the Transfer Station Attendant for many years. He was an Eagle Scout Leader and avid fisherman. He enjoyed spending time gardening and growing flowering plants in his greenhouse. Ralph leaves his wife of 68 years, the former Winnifred R. LaFoe; a son, Ralph E. Kenyon, Jr. of Williamstown, and his wife Yelna; daughters Sherry L. Henry and Rosanne E. McClaflin and her husband Heath, of Chester; a brother, Gordon Kenyon of New York; a sister, Dorothy Dwyer of Westfield; thirteen grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Ralph was predeceased by two sons, Bruce A. Kenyon and Michael C. Kenyon, Sr. FUNERAL NOTICE: A memorial gathering for friends and well wishers will be held Saturday, October 2, 2010 at 1 p.m. at the Chester Railroad Station Museum, 10 Prospect Street, Chester, MA. Please join the family in celebrating the life of, and sharing the sorrow of this loss.
